Cape Cod is known as a destination for foodies. While primarily known for the fresh seafood, Cape Cod is home to a bounty of delicious restaurants, cafes, ice creameries, and more! As a local, I have compiled a list of all the best Cape Cod restaurants & eateries that are well worth your visit during your time here.

Kream ‘n Kone – Dennis

A classic New England seafood restaurant, this is one of my hometown favorites. With an abundance of delicious options and a bounty of awards to prove their excellence, it is worth the effort to enjoy the food. The fish sandwiches are great, and for anyone who doesn’t like seafood, their chicken tenders hit the spot every time. If there’s one meal I had to recommend you try, it would be their clam strips. I swear they have the best on the entire Cape. You get a plate big enough for a few people, but after trying them you won’t want to share any.

Añejo – Hyannis

Mexican done right, a hard find on Cape Cod. Fantastic drinks and food you will dream about, A ñejo is a restaurant you must hit up if you are a fan of Mexican food. This is about as close to genuine Mexican as you will get in New England, and it is absolutely phenomenal. And the atmosphere of the restaurant is on or with the food, making your entire time there an experience. I would definitely recommend the Main Street Corn. While messy, the seasoning was so delicious. I always get chicken tacos and they never disappoint. They’re so good that so tried to create my own version of them to save my bank account from being drained! I go to the location on Main Street Hyannis, however, there is also locations in Falmouth and Plymouth.

Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters – Sandwich, Chatham, & Brewster

The best coffee on Cape Cod by far! Snowy Owl is a household name on the Cape, and its loved for a good reason. Working directly with family owned coffee farms throughout the tropics, and then roasting their own beans, their coffee is full of flavor and backed by sustainable practices.

I highly recommend the cold brew, or give any of their seasonal drinks a try. They never fail to make amazing drinks.

Captain Frosty’s – Dennis

A classic New England seafood shack, the Cape Cod staple. Captain Frosty’s offers a variety of fried seafood and classics that are guaranteed to please. My personal favorite from here that I have fond childhood memories of are their clam cakes. Delicious dough balls filled with clams and fried to perfection, a food I encourage anyone in coastal New England to indulge in. Very few restaurants make these anymore, but my childhood was filled with them, and they truly are delicious.

Stone L’Oven – Brewster

For the pizza lovers, Stone L’Oven delivers delicious all-natural stone-fired pizzas. While a bit more upper-scale than your traditional takeout pizza joint, Stone L’Oven does not disappoint. All of their pizzas are beautifully crafted and the stone oven gives the crust the perfect crisp. I also highly recommend their chicken wings. I find it hard to come across wings that are so delicious and such a good crisp factor, which makes me not a huge fan of wings generally. But these wings are so perfectly crispy on the outside, and deliciously juicy on the inside that I can never resist them. I definitely recommend Stone L’Oven if you want to enjoy some good pizza during your stay on the Cape.

Grumpy’s – Dennis

Who doesn’t love breakfast?! If you are looking for the perfect breakfast joint, look no further. Grumpy’s serves up classic breakfast dishes that never disappoint, from pancakes to breakfast sandwiches, to omelets, there are endless options. My personal favorite is their special crispy french toast, thick deliciously soft pieces of french toast coated in crispy cereal and fried to perfection. It is absolutely fantastic and unlike anything you will find elsewhere. The joint tends to get busy in the summer, so don’t be surprised if there is a long wait.

Eat Cake 4 Breakfast – Brewster

If you like pastries, this bakery is a must-visit. Voted the best bakery on Cape Cod for a reason, everything I have had at Eat Cake 4 Breakfast has been nothing except excellence. The pain de chocolat is so delicious, along with their plain croissants and the ham/turkey and cheese stuffed croissants. One of their most popular items is the Brewster Bun, which is a delicious cinnamon-rolled croissant. They also have a variety of individual desserts that are delectable, from fruit tarts to lemon tarts to cheesecake, and they are all phenomenal. I could recommend things from them for days since everything I have ever had has been so decadent, so you really can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. Definitely get there early if you want to get something good though! They sell out fast.

The Lighthouse Keeper’s Pantry – Yarmouth

A cozy cafe in the center of Yarmouth, you will find a variety of baked goods, sandwiches, salads, and coffees. With a beautiful outdoor area, this is a great place to grab a bite and enjoy the sun.

Besides the delicious food and relaxing atmosphere, Lighthouse Keeper’s offers a wide range of housemade products. From jams, jellies, and sauces, to baking mixes and cocktail mixes, every single product is absolutely outstanding. They can be purchased at the storefront, but can also be found at many local retailers.

Yolqueria – Provincetown

If two of your favorite things are brunch and mexican, then Yolqueria is the perfect restaurant for you! Sat at the end of Commercial Street in Provincetown, Yolqueria boasts a lively seaside atmosphere. With both indoor and outdoor seating, you will be sure to enjoy the experience regardless.

The menu features a large range of options, from traditional american breakfast foods, to tacos, and mexican-brunch fusion dishes. The cowboy carnitas are my favorite things on the menu, but you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose.

The Ice Cream Smuggler – Dennis

Looking for the best homemade ice cream on Cape Cod? Then head to Smuggler’s for a delicious bite of small batch ice cream. A local favorite, Smugglers is always packed on summer nights, with lines wrapping around the building. It may seem crazy to wait so long for just ice cream, but it is so worth it.

They offer a little bit of everything, from sundaes, to milkshakes, to seasonal flavors, vegan flavors,

The Beachcomber – Wellfleet

The Beachcomber is a legendary beachfront bar and restaurant on Cape Cod. It is impossible to go a day on the cape without spotting a beachcomber shirt or bumper sticker.

It boasts a lively and laid back atmosphere paired with delicious and classic New England seafood and craft cocktails.

Overlooking Cahoon Hollow Beach, part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, the Beachcomber is a great place for everyone to enjoy. From catching waves, to enjoying the sun, or just grabbing some drinks with friends, the Beachcomber has a little something for everyone!

The Beachcomber often features live music throughout the summer months, making it a great place to meet friends and enjoy a night out.

Tap City Grille – Hyannis

For a classic pub-style restaurant, Tap City Grille is the place for you. There are so many classic American dishes to choose from off the menu, and while all are good, I continue to return for one reason. The garlic cheese curds with a decadent fig sauce are by far the best cheese curds I have ever had. Anyone that knows me knows that I love cheese, so it is quite the claim that these cheese curds are on the top of my list. The cheese is the perfect gooeyness, and the garlic perfectly compliments the cheese flavor. Fantastic on their own, or perfectly paired with the fig sauce, I guarantee you will enjoy this cheesy goodness.
